Hi,

My 390 went cold, and the store that sold it to me (the whole computer, actually) gave me an MSI 470 instead. I checked out GPUcompare and it doesn't seem a fair trade, but since I'm not an expert I ask you:
is it a fair trade? If not, what is? It must be an MSI, but the core can be Radeon or Nvidia.

Thank you

Solution
It's not. A 390 is roughly 15% faster than a 470. Why does it "have" to be an MSI. Barring a theme, there are plenty of reasons to NOT get an MSI.

To answer your other question, An RX 480 is very slightly slower than a 390, a 580 is slightly faster, or a GTX 1060 3GB is also slightly faster, but if you could get a 1060 6GB that would be the best option. as far as a fair trade if your GPU crapped out as fast as it seems it did, I wouldn't take anything less than a 1060 3GB. And in order of what is better;

1. 1060 6GB
2. RX 580
3. 1060 3GB

All are close to each other in performance anyways. And that's not taking the game preference into account. Some games like Nvidia, some games like AMD, its mostly about what you play. But some games...

But some games the 580 will beat out the 1060 6GB handily, in other games even a 1060 3GB will beat the 580 by about 10%. Just depends. But that's the general ranking.
