My tower GPU just died and I've ordered a new GTX1080 but it won't come for a few days. Is it possible to run my tower through my gaming laptop so I can run games from the tower SSD on my pc monitor? Any help would be great. Thanks.

No, there is no way that I know of where you can use a laptop GPU to render graphics for a PC.

In your PC, the GPU is connected to the CPU through the PCIe lanes, these transfer data at a very high rate. You would need some kind of connection between your PC and laptop that could match the PCIe transfer rate, currently there is nothing on either of them that could allow for such high speed transfer of data.

So your laptop is able to run the game and you just want a bigger monitor to view it on? That's different from your original question (which you have since edited) where you want to run your PC through the laptop's GPU.

Thanks for all the help. I want to use my tower as that has the installed game, settings, mods etc etc. I'll just sit out the match and wait for my card. Thanks for everything though

If the tower has an iGPU, you could boot it up, share the folder across the network, and possibly run from the network share on the laptop. Depends on the game itself - some have registry entries, etc.
