Asus z87 Deluxe Dual Bios question, issue updating

I recently had an issue with updating the BIOS. Long story short, thats all sorted out and Im back working. But I cannot upgrade past 1405. Anything past that will not post the BIOS and it just stays at the ASUS screen. I see on the Drivers/BIOS section under my z87 board on Asus' website, that is says to update the BIOS PRIOR to installing a 4th gen CPU. I didnt do that... Could that be the reason its not loading/accepting the new updated BIOS?

Should I update the BIOS to the latest greatest, or just leave it be if its working...

The general rule of thumb is don't fix what isn't broken. Especially where the BIOS is concerned.

EDIT: I have been guilty of flashing to the newest just because, but if you have had issues in the past and are working now I would just sit tight
