I am about to build a rig with a Thermaltake core p3 and I noticed a lot of the builds have three fans on the right side (as you look straight at the acrylic panel). On the other side of the case opposite those fans the case is vented so it looks like the fans would just blow straight through - you can mount HDD's under the fans so the fans would blow on them, but what is the purpose of these fans? Do they function at all to cool anything like the mobo or ram etc or do I need seperate fans for general airflow/cooling?

Componants:

CPU: i7 7700k
CPU Fan: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 400 CPU Cooler
RAM: Corsair 16GB
Motherboard: ASRock Z270 Killer SLI
PSU: Seasonic 1050w
HD: Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 GAMING iCX, 08G-P4-6686-KR, 8GB GDDR5X

Solution
Those fan mounts are for AIOs. Since you don't plan to cool your CPU with AIO, there's no need to mount regular fans there since this open-air case is naturally aspirated and you can't create an airflow inside it to cool your CPU/GPU as with regular closed cases.

Got it, would you recommend an extra fan on the back (or anywhere else) to push air through the case just to keep it recycling or would it not make a difference?
