Was wondering if I could use this cable to connect to the 3pin pump on my liquid cooler then connect the 4pin to the CPU header which is a 4pin to control the pump speed on it

You don't need to use any adapters since all 3-pin fan/pump connectors are compatible with 4-pin MoBo fan headers and vice-versa.
