Hello all ,

I have two 1TB WD Black HDDs both at 7200 , One has a partition for OS and the remaining are in one partition for gaming while the other is only one partition with various things other than gaming including gaming recording from Bandicam

I am running out of Space of the First HDD but it will be enough for a lot of recorded videos So I have a question for this : Will recording games on an HDD that has the OS installed in it impact the FPS that hard or it will be minimum or it will have no effect at all ? I guess recording on a separate HDD that has the OS installed on it is way better than recording on the same HDD

For reference my build is :

CPU : AMD FX 8350 4.0ghz
GPU : AMD R9 380 4gb
Ram : 12GB
OS : Win7 x64

Solution
It depends on the game but also on how you record (how much bitrate you use) ,if your system is capable of coping with bitrate and handling the system you won't get any slowdown.
Windows has gotten a lot better in not using the disk that much and system ram increasing all the time doesn't hurt as well.
Unless you record uncompressed you will be fine except maybe for the occasional exception.
