i7 7700k is overheating on idle

my processor has been overheating on idle on 100 celusis
am using ekwb liquid cooler but its not working

Did it ever work right? If so most likely your pump has died. Yay watercooling..

yes it was working 2 days before suddelny i noticed my fps was dropping while i was play cS GO THEN I check cpuid and found my temp at 98C WAS SHOCKED NOW HAD TO DEAL :/ WITH THIS

Yep, this is why I will not put a watercooler in any of my client builds. This exact thing happens waaaaaaay too often. Send it back to them if under warranty

but please check the image i posted of prntscr i opened my case and plugged the pump on fan 3 and on cpuid it shows it taking electricity check it says liek 21k rpm 50k rpm

Sounds like a busted pump. No way it spins that fast it's some sort of error

Well if you are getting 100c idle temps and it was working fine previously, I would agree it has to be a pump failure. The only other thing that would cause that is if the cold plate is not mounted properly and barely touching the cpu, though that would not make sense if you had better temps previously.

Yeah busted pump is likely. I use open loop water cooling on most of my rigs for the exact reason it is easier to fix. I have one AIO water cooler on one of my servers just because I didn't want the maintenance an open loop entails for my server. I also used an AIO liquid cooler for my nephew, because he didn't want the maintenance either (his old set-up had an open loop) and space was an issue because it was a micro atx build. Like supahos I am always very skeptical in using AIO coolers. The aren't easy to fix, they break/go bad pretty easy and their cooling capacity is only a little better then a high end metal heat-sink.

EKWB makes quality parts...it is just with AIO coolers you are more likely to have something go bad/wrong then an open loop IMO. And when it does it is harder if not impossible to repair on your own.

Anytime you add a pump your failure rate increases 10 fold or more. With an air cooler once installed properly all you have to do is see if the fan is working. Water cooler have the possibility of a leak, air and pump failure in addition to fan dailure

There are sometimes 3-4 posts a day here for probable pump failures, many days in a row...

I'd say a 10 fold increase in chances for trouble later after assembly is QUITE accurate...

yes got a mehanic and the reason was pump not pumping water over pipes :/ i must order :/ new pump from europe its trouble :/ but its worth my idle temp with cooler used to be 35C and i was using coolmaster 240m cooler before ekwb and i was getting same problem i live in india :/ where the temp is warm so liquid loop is :/ mandatory

Pump failures are one reason I run 2 pumps in serial on my water cooling loop. If one goes your not dead in the water. This is not something you can find on closed loop/AIO systems. Open loop water cooling is the best way to go IF your going to water cool.
