I have an ASRock Extreme3 Z87 motherboard and I am trying to trouble shoot. Yesterday, the power supply went bad. I replaced the power supply (I even ran the paperclip test). Now, the PC will turn on long enough for the fans to power and then it shuts back down. I have removed everything from the motherboard with still the same issue. The only things I haven't done are remove the motherboard from the case to test (I don't even know where the light is on the mobo) and/or replaced the battery. Can you guys please help? I'm not that savvy when it comes to computer parts...but I can follow directions.

OK Guys!

I have combed through this entire website.
And step by step managed to get my computer to boot to BIOS!
WEEEEEEEE!
It was the motherboard after all. I purchased a new one today. Only to set fire, literally, to my HD. So, I can not boot from my HD like I had planned.

QQ

But, I do have my Windows 7 disk. (I know, save the applause). But, I can not get the BIOS to recognize the DVD. I have tried two. Switched around cables..blah blah blah. The only thing left to do, as I can see it, is to boot from a USB stick. Luckily, I have a friend who will make the stick for me! WOOHOO!

I will totally keep you all informed and make a full post detailing my specs, problems and final solutions. I can not say how thankful I am that this community exists. I took the time to read over new and older threads, and my diligence has paid off. I am installing windows NOW! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
