Recently had a freak accident that ruined my 2nd Gigabyte z170x-gaming 5 (first one died out on me in less than a year), which gigabyte probably isn't going to fix so I need to get a new board.

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a board equal to or better than the previous one. I'd like something that can benefit my unlocked cpu at some point but keep it no more than 180. I'm mainly looking for something that will compliment speed, sound quality and gaming better, or equal to the gigabyte z170x-gaming 5.

Cpu: I5 6600k
Gpu: RX 480 8GB
PSU: Corsair CX650M
2x HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM 4gb

These are the features of the gigabyte z170x-gaming 5. Maybe I should get a gaming 7? I'm just a little bit sick of dealing with Gigabyte at this point.

I thought you wanted to replace motherboard damaged accidently. Switching to a different motherboard might invalidate your Windows OS license.

Regarding your specs, I don't know what 2x HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM 4gb is. Maybe a kit or maybe two singles. No memory clock speed is listed. No power supply is listed.

I don't see compliment speed, sound quality and gaming better in a similar motherboard.

I don't think my OS will be invalidated, I replaced my previous mobo before with the same model and my OS was fine. Are you saying that switching to a different make and model of mobo could invalidate my OS??
