Hi guys,

I built this new PC with these parts:

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-DS2
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 845
    RAM: 2-Power MEM8507A 8GB DDR3
    GPU: Nvidea GTX750 Ti
PSU: Vitex VP420P (I had it lying around from an older build)

However, the system does not post, the fans start to spin but the screen does not display anything and the keyboard does not get any power. This motherboard does not have any LED's or a speaker connector so I can't use that to discover the problem.

I tried the following things:

  • Swap out the RAM.
    Swap out the CPU.
Send back the motherboard to the retailer (Azerty), they tested it and told me it was working just fine.
    Swap out the GPU.
    Swap out the PSU.
Take out the CMOS battery for a few minutes.

One other thing to note is that this motherboard has an 8-pin power connector so I used a molex to 4 pin connector as well as the normal 4 pin connector on my PSU.

Does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be?

Solution
those 2 cable you use to repalce the 8 pins on original start up did you check polarity of the cable compare to the 8 pins connector you might have blown something .

Ow, really? That sucks... Is there no way I can make it work with an adapter or something?

I bought a Corsair VS450 which has an 8pin connector and it still does not work...

Sorry for not following up, it turned out the memory was not compatible with the motherboard. It has been running for more than half a year since we replaced it.
