Can faulty GPU's cause screen freezes and disconnects from online games?

I recently got a new 1060. It worked find but a day or 2 later my screen started to freeze. Its almost like my internet got cut off with no videos loading, the sound cutting off(or on a loop), and if im playing a online game at the time, disconnects/crashes. During single player the game freezes for a good minute or 2 before going back to normal. My temperatures are fine (never above 75 under Furmark) i reinstalled all my drivers and uninstalled all my old AMD drivers. Reset my modem/router. Reinstalling windows would be my last option but i strongly feel its a GPU problem. My voltages for everything are good and my PSU is working just fine. I dont have another GPU to test either.

I dont know if this will help but sometimes instead of a screen freeze, every application that i launch is in a loading phase (internet, folders, new tab, games, etc) and then once the freeze duration is over, everything i opened pops up at once. I use Ethernet but during this phase my WiFi is working.

Hi,

First off what is the rest of your computer?
How old and what brand is the PSU?
What was the old GPU?
Is your CPU overheating ? What temps is it reaching?

If you lose your internet connection, it might be a broader issue / malware
Did you scan your system for malware.

Download hard disk sentinel from there website and look at the health of your drive, it could be causing issues.

FX 8350
8GB DDR3 RAM
CORSAIR CS 650W BRONZE. PSU IS 4 YEARS OLD BUT VOLTAGES ARE ALL FINE
ZOTAC 1060
SOME MSI MOTHERBOARD

My CPU is perfectly fine the temps never go above 60
I will scan my system for Malware
I will download hard disk sentinel see how that works.

My performance is 97% and my health is 98% in Hard Disk Sentinel
I scanned for Malware and was pretty much clean. Nothing bad enough to cause freezes and crashes.Besides, all i downloaded after getting my new GPU (which is when I started having problem) was drivers, Furmark, Prime95, and Hard Disk Sentinel.
