All of a sudden, my AMD graphics card was disabled and everything I've tried to do to fix it has not worked.

Description

The problem started a couple days ago when all of a sudden I couldn't run any of my games and even my moving wallpapers were extremely laggy. So after doing a lot of troubleshooting I discovered on my device manager that my desktop graphics card had been disabled for some reason and it said this in the device status box, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I immediately thought it was a driver problem and that was the general consensus when I looked at similar problems online. So I performed a clean install of the latest amd drivers but it did nothing. No change on the disabled graphics card.

I'm completely lost on this and any help would greatly be appreciated.

Usually that error is drivers. Just to be safe, I would run DDU to uninstall the old drivers and then do a fresh install. Sometimes when you just remove them through the add/remove feature, bits are left behind that can cause problems.

The next step is to go into your BIOS and make sure that the PCIe socket isn't disable there. It shouldn't be, but might as well, won't hurt to check.

If using DDU and then a fresh install doesn't fix it and BIOS doesn't have the slot disabled, then if is likely going to be your card has gone bad.

Here is the link to DDU. Boot up in safe mode to run it for best results.

Thank you for the quick reply... I've already tried the DDU clean install of drivers and a few other random solutions I've looked up online. I will try the BIOS thing next I guess and hopefully that is it. Would suck to have to buy a whole new card

Also, do you still think it could be my card going dead even if it just happened all of a sudden? Like I've had zero problems til like three days ago when I cleaned out the dust from my computer like I have numerous times. Which makes me think it could also be a hardware problem but I'm just not sure.

When you blew the dust out, did you unseat your card or just leave it in when you did it? If you took it out to do it, I suppose it is possible dust could have gotten into the connection and is blocking the signal. Just to be safe, you might want to unseat the card and blow it again and then reseat it.
