Hi there,

I'm currently pondering if I should do another upgrade on components.

I recently upgraded my Mobo, Case and Cooling solution for my FX-4100 ... I haven't bothered with overclocking it yet.....

Anyway I regularly play PUBG and I want to get to a nice stable 60-70 fps nothing to major. I'll get onto my full specs soon.

For a minor upgrade is the FX 8350 worth it... and would I likely get some decent usuage out of it for a fair while? or Should I think about an Ryzen system? I don't want anything extreme I'm not a streamer or content creator and I have no ambitions of ever being one so just a nice simple FPS beast will do for me.

Specs of my current setup are as follows

MObo: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P Rev 2.0
Cooling: CM Seidon 240P AIO cooling kit
Case: Segotep SG-K7 Case
PSU: Silverstone 550 or 650w (forgot the watts but sure it's the 550)
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce 4GB OC 960 GTX card
RAM: Generic 16GB Kit (1333mhz) I know the mobo can take 2GHZ RAM

Cheers in advance for any insight.

Hmm this is a tough one. Personally, I would go for a Ryzen build. 100+$ on another FX processor isn't worth it. You can get a Ryzen 1300X for that money. That being said you will have to upgrade your mobo and RAM with it as well.

You get more bang for your buck this way :)

Hmm thanks for the answer. I guess I'll wait a little while longer and get an 1500 or 1600x like I was originally thinking about. Is the GTX 960 still a worthy card to use?

A GTX 960 compares to a GTX 1050Ti which is a good budget gaming card. You should be fine at 1080p-mid settings. The only difference is the 1050Ti has the newer architecture.
