Guys I have a really old PC, bought back in 2006. It had GA-8S661FXM-775 mobo with Pentium 4 516 CPU @2.93GHz, with 128MB of RAM later I did upgrade it to 2GB DDR, SiS 661FX 64MB VRAM and currently I have 160GB of SATA HDD. I really don't use that PC much but I have decided now to use it for backup purposes like I have lots of movies and songs in my primary PC, I have decided to move some of them into my old PC and even some games for the same. Now my question is I want it to upgrade to Windows 7 and add a 1TB of HDD to it. Please do tell me if I doing it right or its total waste to do it. And also tell me if my decade old computer can run Windows 7? I am expecting any blazing performance from it but will it work? Thanks in advance...

Why, No. Your motherboard will be carrying the sound and the integrated lan card, but has driver support until the windows XP 64bit. No driver support for Windows 7 and further. So its better for an upgrade to the old computer.

Peace.

Your Specs will run windows 7 but your motherboard manufacturer won't provide you the drivers for windows 7. So there might be a driver issues even though windows will help you with its drivers while installing.
