I just moved to another room with wifi provided.

I am using ASUS PCE-AC56 wifi adapter for my desktop. router is by netgear. my iphone, xbox and my tp link wifi adapter able to connect to the netgear router. It is just not showing up on my desktop as a network to connect. I have tried uninstalling the driver/disabling enabling it/restarting the pc/refreshing the network list/manually connecting to the SSID/updating the driver. It is showing all the other networks, so my adapter is still working. Please help me.

update: i am able to see the 5GHz a/n/ac network but unable to connect to it. it keeps trying to identify the connection. the connection i want to connect to is the 2.4GHz b/g/n because the signal is stronger than the 5ghz.

update: now i can see both 2.4/5ghz connections but can't connect to them. it keeps identifying/trying to authenticate.

Wow, that's a good one. Did you recently purchase the adapter? If so, I'd purchase another one of different make and model to test with and return the one that doesn't work. It's almost like because you moved to a different room, you no longer have a strong enough signal. And because you are closer to other networks, is the reason why they are being recognized.

the asus pce-ac56 was suppose to be an upgrade from the TP-Link TL-WN821N Wireless N300 USB Adapter. sorry it's not linksys. it's tp link. i doubt that the signal strength is the issue because the netgear router i want to connect to is on the 2nd level and i can connect to the router on the ground floor(im on the 3rd level) so the netgear router is nearer to me than the ground floor one which is not the fast speed router.
