Hey,

Looking to upgrade my GPU, currently have a GTX 770, going for a GTX 1080 because I've been told its worth buying over a 1070 price wise and will stand the test of time longer. And my budget is around $500 but I am willing to go a bit over. Wondering if my processor can handle this GPU that falls in my price range:

Or is it worth spending more money on say something like this:

In your opinion of course.

Also I have only 8GB system ram. Wanting to run games like No Man Sky in at least high settings with AA and have a very smooth performance. Think I need more RAM? I want to play it a full HD or 2K settings.

Thanks!

At lower resolutions you may see somewhat of a bottleneck but I don't think it should be too bad and definitely not worth dropping cash on a better CPU if only for gaming.

If you are spending $500 anyway, I would go for the GIGABYTE due to its superior cooling and factory OC

I think I'm going for the Gigabyte Windforce! It's $519 and appears to have superior cooling you were talking about, so hopefully it will last longer! Thanks
