So usually when I play a game everything runs completely smooth but after about an hour of gaming I experience a frame rate drop from 100+ frames to 20 frames and then right back up with in the matter of a second which cause a temporary freeze up/lag. Once it occurs the first time it consistently happens every 30 seconds. I can predict when I'm about to get a freeze up. It's not just in games in either I can be on my desktop moving my mouse rapidly and it'll freeze up and then glitch back to normal. Any ideas what's causing this issue?
