10Mbit (megabits) upload and 10Mbit download. That is OK. It will stream HD video to a couple devices. It would have been considered fast a few years ago and is still pretty good for large parts of the US. Most metropolitan areas of the US have speeds available of 50 to 100Mbit download.
The up is fine, the down is pretty slow by todays standards. It's more like really fast DSL. It's also odd because they are the same speed. As long as you are the only user on that connection you should be fine.

What speed would you guys recommend or ideal? I do a lot of online gaming and work online with data transfer.
Gaming uses very little bandwidth other than when you first download some games. It depends how much downloading you do and how important it is to get it very fast. On your current connection you get 75mbyte of data per minute or 4.5gbyte/hour. Most things are not that huge and the small number of games that will take multiple hours to download you could just let run overnight.
Mostly you would need more bandwidth if you have multiple people watching HD video streams or if you wanted to watch 4k netflix video.
Pretty much it will come down to money and if you find it a good value. What you have may be "good enough" but only you can make that call.
