Ill be building a budget rig
Ryzen 3 1200
GTX 1060
I plan to oc to 3.8-3.9ghz
But since im new i want to know , will oc create damage in the long run to the cpu thus shortening its lifespan

Solution
High temperatures and high voltage will degrade the processor faster over time. As long as you stay within the recommended limits, proceed slowly, and have adequate cooling you should be okay.

Do lots of stability testing when dialing-in and don't run it balls-out 24/7.

A good quality PSU is also essential for OC

for sure oc can decrease the lifespan, it wont create such a bad damage as long as you know how to oc it properly and as long as the cooler can cool it down properly. but remember that desktop components were not made for 24/7 usage, however long duration of usage is not a problem as long as the cooler can handle it. make sure you dont add up too much voltage, add voltage if it is necessary only, and dont forget to run some stress test for long duration to make sure the oc stable and make sure your cpu not reaching it max temperature
