Should I trade my FX6300, GTX 750, 8GB, 3 HDDs, 1 SSD, desktop in for a Laptop?

I know it may sound stupid at first, but I've been wanting a laptop for a long time now, I long for the mobility only a laptop can provide in terms of a pc.

And to make matters more difficult, the laptop in question is worse by a mile than my desktop: it's an i5 2410m, 8GB DDR3 ram, and an Intel HD 3000 graphics onboard card and a single 500GB HDD.

I know some of you will say I could get a better deal, but in my current predicament this is the only deal I'm gonna get. So, should I do it? What you would you do in my place?

PS: Before some of you remind me I know I won't be able to play 90% of the latest games, and will only be able to play old games.

Good luck running games on a integrated gpu. But if mobile is what ya want then go for it i guess. Though if gaming is really what your looking for at least find one with a dedicated gpu

Other options to consider: A 7" Amazon Kindle ($50) is a fast 4 core non-gaming mobile device. Matched with a $30 bluetooth keyboard/case you have a mobile non-gaming laptop-like solution without trading in the gaming PC.

More options: An SSD will make the notebook feel much smoother, and will extend battery life. Goto youtube to see video of disassembly of the laptop to see if you can do it. The difficulty varies widely from a single screw (most think pads) to 31 different screws, pry off keyboard after removing bottom on my ideapad.

Good luck whatever.

It really depends on what you need a laptop for and if those needs trump the ability to play games. Also, pull that SSD from the Desktop if you can, and swap it into the laptop. I guarantee it will make that slow laptop feel so much better.
