So I have a Raidmax RX500-XT and the specs say it's supposed to have a 6 pin PCI-E and a 6+2 pin PCI-E but I only seem to have the 6 pin? Is this a defect or am I just crazy.

Solution
If the 6+2 was somehow missing, then you should be able to get an ADAPTER since the 6-pin PCIe wires (and inside PSU) are supposed to handle up to 1x6 + 1x8 power.

Normally I don't recommend adapters but if you know what you're doing you can use something like THIS:
https://www.amazon.com/PCI-Express-Video-Y-Splitter-Adapter-Supply/dp/B00VWEGKD4

That should be topologically equivalent to what you SHOULD have had so power distribution should be fine. Don't use 2x8-pin though, just up to 1x6 + 1x8 as said.

No doubt someone will say "get a better PSU" but that's your choice. My main concern with PSU's is Over-current protection to limit damage to attached components and I don't know if or how well that PSU handles this.

Yeah they aren't attached together it's weird. I'm probably gonna unplug everything and take the power supply out to make sure I'm not crazy.
