So I have a Lenovo Flex 15, the 2016 model with an i7-6500u and amd radeon m470 gpu. It also has a good 16 gb of ram.

It's not the most powerful machine, but I expected it to easily get 100+ fps consistently on easy titles like League. This problem has been happening for a couple months now, maybe since April.
However, even on easy games, the laptop gets extremely hot, so hot that touching the top part of the keyboard is really painful if I hold it down for half a second. Also, after about 20 minutes of this, whenever anything happens, the frames will drop from 120 to about 15 then to 1 or 2 fps. After a few seconds it goes back to 15 fps and then 120 fps. However, I use skills a lot and I get into team fights a lot so whenever my screen gets even a little busy, it freezes up.

It's even getting worse, and now, just web browsing will make it hot.
The fan is also obnoxiously loud.
I use Bitdefender and Malwarebytes regularly and also CCleaner every week or so.
I also tried disabling my m470 and using the default intel hd 520.
No Luck.

(please and thanks for the help)

Solution

Clean it out with high pressure compressed air. There is most likely a wall of dust blocking the fins of the cooler.
