Does Sabertooth 990fx r2-0 supports 1080 ti GPUs ?

Hello,

I am a 3d Artist and i work mostly in 3d rendering and some video editing.

I have assembled my pc 2 years ago and i have Sabertooth 990fx r2-0 motherboard and AMD FX-9590 processor. And i am currently using NVIDIA GeForce 750 Ti GPU. But i want to upgrade to 1080 Ti so just wanted to know that does my motherboard and processor supports the 1080 ti GPUs?
I checked the zotac AMP Extreme edition's spects and it says PCIe 3.0 and Sabertooth 990fx r2-0 motherboard does not have PCIe 3.0 slots. So i am not sure if it works.

Any task that requires a good cpu to feed it will be slower with your cpu than a competent one. Anything that just needs a gpu to stay fast will be fine. You'll need to check on your specific applications to see what you have

Then I guess I'll go with the Zotac 1080 ti AMP Extreme edition as i am going to render the images in GPU based render engines. Thanks a lot for your reply. It helped a lot.
