Hey all. This is a bit of a re-post from the motherboard forum but I wasn't having any luck over there. Anyway, here goes.

Parts:

ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero LGA1151
i7-7700K (CPU Cooler H60)
G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600
Corsair RM750x 750W

The rest, I believe, is irrelevant (but please let me know if you need more info).

My issue is that I can't get any display to recognize my boot (I've tried several). I know the mobo is POSTing correctly because I get an A0 from the mobo display but I can't see anything on my monitor. I have tested several working monitors (one of which I'm typing from now) and they simply won't display. Fans spin, lights light up but nothing on screen.

I have also tested 1 other GPU (in case the onboard display was the problem) and still nothing. I must be missing something. Appreciate any help.

Just a DisplayPort cable (with my ROG Swift), that was connect directly to the motherboard. Then I put in a Sapphire 7500 card and hooked up an old Dell monitor using a DVI cable. Also tried a VGA cable with DVI adapter to no avail.

Not recently, it is an older card that I haven't used in a few years but it has very little wear and tear. I upgraded shortly after I got it and boxed it but it was working fine until then. I don't really have the ability to swap it to another system on the fly to be sure. I honestly don't think the card is the problem.

Why won't the onboard work?

The only monitor I have (other than the ancient ones I mentioned) is the Swift and it only uses DisplayPort.

Edit: Would a TV work?

Setting it up would be a pain. So what is the actual best way to first boot with this mobo? It seems a bit ridiculous to be in this price bracket yet be so difficult to get a running system.

Of course. You don't make this kind of purchase without the intent of having a great card behind it. I have a 980 in the system I'm on now I just don't see the value of wasting my time if I can't even get the mobo to boot without jumping through hoops. It should boot up when I snap my fingers for the money I spent.

Sorry, not being snippy with you, just a little upset that I can't even load windows to this machine.

You were on the right track the first time when you said try HDMI. As soon as I plugged my TV in and booted up, I saw the UEFI BIOS. Thank you for your help.

I will say, however, that this motherboard should not be this difficult considering the premium you pay for it. The ports should work out of the box. (This is not a slight against you alexoui, this is for any ASUS engineers that might be reading).
