Hello, i just got a MSI H270 Carbon Gaming motherboard, i have intel i5-7600k, gtx 970. There are so many different drivers on the webpage and i dont think i need them all, i will never use the on-board sound system and im always with an ethernet cable. so excacly what do i NEED to install?

I would get the realtek audio driver, the intel LAN driver, the asmedia USB 3.0 driver, and the intel chipset driver. There are generic windows drivers for all of these things so your pc will function without them, they mainly just offer optimizations and more features over the windows generic drivers.
Also the graphics drivers for your gpu. But you should get that from nvidia's website or geforce experience.
