Hello, So I would like to install a mac partition on my desktop computer. purchased a 500gb Samsung EVO 850 for this purpose. I purchased a file that I believe is the equivalent to .iso on Mac(not an expert here) named "Install macOS Sierra 10.12 (16A323).dmg". I could open it and extract the content using 7-zip. the folder contain:
- .fseventsd
- .HFS + Private Directory Data
- .Trashes
- [HFS+ Private Data]
- Install macOS Sierra.app
- .journal
- .journal info block

I don't know how to use this file to create a bootable drive: I heard of dmg2img and tried to use a basic command to convert the .dmg to iso but the created iso but I got an error stating this iso is corrupted.. any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Yes, its called building a Hackintosh. The end-user license agreement for OS X states that it should only be used on Apple hardware. Therefore, its a breach of their software licensing agreement, technically speaking, it’s illegal to install and use macOS on non-Apple hardware

Peace.

isn't it called hackintoshing? I though it was allowed reading that there was a compatibility guide in the sticky section...

"After reviewing the matter, OSx86 discussion is fine so long as it is within the confines of direct personal use with software that has been purchased from an authorized retailer. I emphasize "personal use".

If you purchased the OS, not from Apple, then it is pirated software. Apple don't charge for Sierra to entitled users, therefore you didn't get it from Apple, therefore it certainly is pirated

Tom's, most emphatically, doesn't allow discussion of pirated software.
