I have an old Inspiron 530 that I recently upgraded to 4gb of RAM and an E8400. Now, Windows Vista freezes on the Microsoft corporation loading screen most of the time, and the windows 10 bootable USB also freezes while loading.

I ran a bootable memtest86 usb and it didn't give any errors after a full pass.

Any ideas?

EDIT: BIOS wasn't updated and the processor wasn't being properly recognized.

Might be too many software conflicts and/or registry errors. If you can boot to safe mode w/networking, download CCleaner. Run it and to the Clean and Registry portions both. If it finds a ton of stuff, run it again.

Are you trying to take an old PC and update it to W10? I do that a lot and run into snags myself quite a bit.
