I am going to be purchasing a 1080 Ti along with a 1440p 144hz monitor.

I currently have a 4790k along with 16gb ram, i know the GPU is more than capable of handling the monitors demands but is the CPU? i know the 4790k is getting old but it is still very relevant so will it be able to keep up?
