Hello.

I had a 4TB Toshiba HDWE140, was in a NAS as part of a RAID but i removed it due to some issues and am currently trying to prepare to re-add it to the RAID.

HOWEVER, when trying to format the drive i can't get the full spare, looking in window disk manager shows the physical HDD us split into two drives. I've tried various tools to merge, wipe the drives etc but the two separate 'drives' always remain. Does anyone have any idea how i re-combine it all into one drive/volume? I'm a bit stumped. I've tried the tools in windows disk manager as well as the mini partition wizard tool but they both fail to recognise the the disks as from the same physical drive! Any ideas?

(FYI - happy to re-format and loose the data as i've taken everything i need from it already).

Just delete both partitions and then create a new partition. But if you are planning to add your drive to a raid array again there is no need to prepare the drive as the raid controller will format and partition the drive again when you create a raid volume.
