Hey all, I have a quick question I really need some help with. So the other day I was looking for some good RAM to go with my Ryzen 5 1600 build. As stated in the title my Mobo is an AsRock AB350 Pro4 ATX board.
I googled a bit and most threads suggested to look through the seemingly short list of RAMs on their site http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350%20Pro4/#Memory . My problem is, I look through RAMs I like and I write down their product number so I can check if I can use them or not.
Most of them are 8GB Modules (I will get another one later) and for some reason I can't find a good one with the exact same code. Most of them have a 16 instead of an 8 or a 4 instead of a 1 somewhere and it's kind of annoying. Is this because on the site it only shows pairs and not single modules? I can't really afford to push the build anymore to get 16 gigs right now and I don't want to fall down to a micro ATX board either.
Can anyone help me with this? Or can you suggest some good RAMs in an affordable price point? Thanks in advance, hope I hear from you soon.

That chart has got errors all over it. Especially in the kit sizes. Also, this list doesn't mean that ONLY these sticks will work. It's *supposedly* just a list of what's been tested.
Do you want to OC heavily, mildly, or not at all? I'd wager any reputable brand/kit of supported specs will work fine.

I can't figure out how to reply to your comment from mobile so I will just answer this here. I'm currently not looking to overclock anything, but if I do in the future it will be just mild tweaking my CPU to 3.6-3.7 GHz, but not my RAM or GPU. Also I was mostly looking for big brands like Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 or 3000 MHz, G.skill RipJaws V etc but I didn't know if those were compatible. You think these will do?

Yes, as long as the Corsair and G.skill you pick up are within the acceptable specs of the MB and CPU, they will work.

Edit - Remember, the first thing you should do with a new MB on the first post/boot is update the BIOS. It can save you a lot of headaches down the road.

Sorry, probably dumb question, but what do you mean by that? You mean if the RAM is DDR4 and basic stuff like that or do I have to worry about latency, MHz etc?

I didn't, but that's very kind of you, that was one of the RAMs I was actually looking at so thats very helpful. I'm just going to go with 1 module for now and I'll just get another one later. In either case thank you very much, you've been very helpful.

I would suggest buying the kit. Even if you find the exact same mfg. and model stick a year from now it's not guaranteed to work in dual-channel mode with the first one. Only way to be sure is to by them as a kit.
Of course, you could just by a whole kit later but then you would be wasting your single stick purchase now - up to you.

If that's the case I think I'll just go with a 2x4 kit and then get another one since this Mobo has 4 DIMM slots and I don't plan to upgrade my RAM further than 16GB cause I simply don't need it. Thanks for all the hell, have a good one!

I have this motherboard for my Ryzen 7 1700 system. I really like this motherboard. The RAM I am using is:

Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory

It worked right away. It is running at its rated speed. I do not get good RAM latency scores when running the PassMark performance benchmarks. I have read on other forums that this is to be expected with AMD. Otherwise I am very pleased.
