CPU going to 80+ degrees gradually in BIOS, turn it on to load windows and it immediately gets there. Fans are running and on, I just reseated the water cooling with new thermal paste after cleaning everything off. Chip was overclocked with stock voltage for 7 months, first issues as of last night. Fans were clogged with dust in front of the radiator but they were fully cleaned.

I5 6600k
H100i v2
ASUS ROG Maximus VII

I also used the CMOS button to reset everything but it still goes up.

How do I tell if the pump is running? The thing is so quiet as is. I see the lights pop up for the main block but maybe that's just the aura light coming on? I put my fingers on the tubes but I dont really feel anything

A loose bracket is proof that there will be incorrect clamping of the water block against the CPU's heat spreader. The mounting bracket should be snug and not wobble before you even attach the water block & pump assembly. The problem will be worse with thinner motherboards.

I just superglued the snaps in for the bracket, I'm going to attempt
To get it to sit flush against it. I think it may be under warranty still as it's been less than a year so I will try that after as well if the RPM is correct. Thanks for The help, are there any other things it may be? Could the chip be overheating itself with the cooler working correctly?

If you're seeing this protrusion above the top surface of the motherboard (i.e. bracket not designed for thinner motherboards) before you install the screw posts then you will get higher than normal CPU temperature:

If you see this then you know that the mounting bracket was correctly designed for motherboards of this thickness:

The solution is usually to add nylon spacers/washers of the appropriate thickness to each corner of the mounting bracket so that the protrusion is eliminated. The following image is for the H100i that also suffered from the same type of design flaw:

Yeah I installed washers and it is still overheating. I'm gonna go ahead and order a new cooler that will hopefully fit better with the mount. Anyone have any suggestions for one to purchase?
