So I've had the Asrock z170 Extreme 4 for nearly a year laying in a box. I've decided to finish purchasing all my parts for my pc which one of them was the cpu. Ordered the 7600k and I know you would have to update the bios for it to be compatible. I wasn't really worried until I started looking into it well after my purchase. Luckily the bios chip is removable and not soldered on so I could just purchase a chip from ebay, can I trust the chips from there?
The other option is to take it to a computer shop but I don't want to pay a crazy amount to get my BIOS flashed.
I checked the chips on the mobo and they say 3.30 which won't be compatible, and I would need at least 7.0 to get the 7600k to work.
If I were to go with the ebay route, can someone link me a tutorial or tell me how to do it as I have no idea on how to take those chips out without breaking it.
And one more thing, is it somehow possible to update the bios without the cpu, like on the Asus rog where you can plug in a usb and it will flash? God just someone give me the best thing I could possibly do.

And what would happen if I were to put in the cpu , plugged everything in, and booted up the system, would It damage something?
