ok first off im not very experianced in computers i just know enough to build a working pc and game on it.

my question is how can i make a seprate gpu display a second desktop on a different monitor or play games on the second gpu of my choice on a second display without stressing the first one.

kinda like this disgram

display 1 > gpu 1 > game 1
display 2 > gpu 2 > game 2
vise versa

instead of

display 1 > gpu 1 > game 1
display 2 > gpu 1 > game 2
and vise versa

here is a screenshot of my gpus
https://i.imgur.com/i9GI5vK.png my gtx 1060 is the primary gpu
the ati radeon is only for my second display to take stress off my first display while streaming etc
i figured it would be a good tactic to reduce stress on my main gpu for lower temps XD

im deditated to running 2 monitors off 2 completly different gpu's
though im using an adapter for my display that i dont think works so thats probally why my display is not displaying.

both drivers are installed, and should work.

EDIT: installed 3 gpus and they seem to be working sepratly https://i.imgur.com/70CQKxv.png the ati radeon only has dvi and display ports which i only have vga cable and hdmi so i need to buy a display port to vga or something to allow 3 displays.

in saying this the gt 710 and gtx 1060 are working not like sli but they are showing different displays.

diagram

display 1 > gpu 1 (gtx 1060) > screen 1
display 2 > gpu 2 (gt 710) > screen 2

my full pc specs incase you need them is here. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/HoloTheNudeWolf/saved/#view=CRzbvK

also for those wondering why im doing this, im bored and im doing this for science XD

heres a picture of inside my pc

top gpu gta 1060-6gb
middle gpu ati radeon 3600 series 512mb
bottom gpu nvidia gt 710 2gb

also is there a program i can use to monitor gpu usage other then aida 64 or what not?

You figured incorrectly. Displaying a second monitor with just a desktop or other software thats not a game does not stress your GPU anymore and will have no affect on temperatures.

Theres not much reason to do this.

To my knowledge this isn't possible, at least for most games. Games launch on the primary monitor, of which you only have one. If you can run it in windowed mode you can drag it to another screen, but AFAIK it's load is still on the primary card.

You can't play two games at the same time so I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Running a second GPU to reduce the load on the first was popular many years ago, but it's not really relevant now. I run four screens on my 280, no problems. I've got it setup so I can run a movie on my 50" LCD with the audio over the 5.1 surround system, while I game on my normal screen and headphones. It works just fine. Honestly I'd just use the 1060.

Mixing different companies should not offload any gpu work. You will see usage go up a little because it's displaying but if you use anything that uses more power, you should only see the primary gpu get stressed more. There are exceptions for some software that can choose or automatically switch. Most games won't let you choose gpu and that will need a virtual os or a way to multi seat.

You could use msi afterburner which shows all gpus with graphs. You can re-arrange the different graphs as needed too. But it may list them as gpu1, gpu2, gpu3 which may be confusing. Hwmonitor may show each easier.

yes i loaded up CPUID HWMonitor and it displayed all 3 gpus with their names and temps and usage. now to figure out how to load specific games onto specific cards, ill get to the bottom of this if it takes me a thousand years.

ok i see where your going with this, except when i play pubg my gpu is pinned to 100% the game is very demanding, i also like to play or do other things that require gpu power on another screen yet when i try to it laggs like crazy or dosent work at all.

my theroy is there has to be a way to lessen the load i just need to figure this out im sure there is a way ill update when i can im trying everything in my power i swear im close.

Eureka!!!

I did it!!!

I got 2 different gpus on 2 different screens to work 2 different games here is a video showing how i did it though its not very practical.

well anyway heres the video link. https://youtu.be/rx5SEG5E8T4
EDIT: yes been using this for a few hours can confirm that gt 710 temps are steady and usage aswell there for my plans worked XD im so happy. spread the word for those who do have more then 1 gpu though i cant garentee it will work with all gpus out there. everyone this is for science. ":D

keep in mind playing 2 games like gta5 on ultra and pubg on ultra will pin your cpu to 100% or loss of fps up to a random number with 80-90% cpu
