3TB Internal HDD - Toshiba vs WD Blue, 7200RPM vs 5400RPM - not for an OS drive

Hi, I've been doing a lot of googling but I can't seem to figure out what the best 3TB internal HDD is. The main thing I seem to hear is stay away from Seagate.

I prioritise quietness over speed (unless it'd mean a huge cut in speed) and reliability obviously. I have a SSD for my OS so the new HDD will be to store files (some of which I access often) and Steam games.

I've narrowed things down to:
The Blue has a slightly higher Amazon score. I'm finding it hard to work out which drive is most reliable because google results often bring up older previous versions of the drives and apparently reliability can vary wildly depending on which specific version a drive is so hopefully somebody who keeps up with HDD news has insight to offer! :)

Some reviews seem to say Toshiba might be noisy but others say it's quiet. I'm not sure if 5400 vs 7200 makes a difference (google seems to say 7200RPM is worth getting but any new 5400RPM drive should be quite good too) but I don't see a Blue 7200RPM. The Blue is also about £20 more costly which I don't mind if it's more reliable or quieter or faster but if not then I suppose myay as well get Toshiba.

Thank you.

Ps. I'm also looking to get a 3TB external HDD to back stuff up on. I've heard refurbished WD's are a bad idea and see there's a stickied thread about it but is this one any good? Toshiba Canvio Basics 3TB Portable External Hard Drive 2.5 Inch USB 3.0 - Black - HDTB330EK3CA

Thanks for any advice.

Yep you've found that WD don't make a 7200rpm drive above 1tb unless you stump up huge amounts for the black series.

Go for the Toshiba 3tb 7200rpm mate honestly.

I have 3 of the Toshiba DC01 drives in my under TV setup

Good drives , fast & relatively quiet .
Good for game storage , you do not want a 5400 rpm drive for that purpose.
