Hello!

I am new to PC building. This is my very first one. Here is my set up

Motherboard: Asus P8z77-v
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K (Quad Core Sandy Bridge)
GPU: EVGA GTX1060 3gb (Single Fan)
RAM: 16GB GSkill DDR3 (1333 mhz)
PSU: EVGA 600W 80 Bronze
Windows 10 installed on an SSD

So I built the darn thing, had some issues with the Boot Device LED, but was able to resolve those issues by removing the CMOS battery (the coin battery in the motherboard) for a few minutes. After that, I was able to get to the BIOS, set some things up, install Windows 10, and bam, I had a fully working PC!

I was advised by a friend to install the graphics card after I installed windows. So, I waited, and then put my graphics card in (without having installed the drivers). This is where the problems started.

With the graphics card in, I got no signal from the motherboard's HDMI port or the Graphics Card's HDMI port. Stumped, I took the card out, and tried to boot to the BIOS because I had read that there is a setting involving switching graphics between the card and the motherboard. However, I got no signal upon booting up and holding down F2. Even more worrisome is that the Boot Device LED came back on a solid red.

So, I have removed the CMOS battery once again to see if I can at least get back to my motherboard's graphics. But I have the issue to resolve of how to install my Graphics Card. If I am able to boot back into my computer (and that is if), I think I may try to install the drivers first. But is there anything more pressing that I should be alerted of? Is perhaps the PCIE slot dead? I hope not! If it is, could I potentially try another one on my board, or is the board toast? I did buy it off eBay second hand, but I was assured that it was pulled from a working unit.

Frustrating for sure, but I just want to get my rig up and running! Keep in mind that it did post and boot to Windows flawlessly before I put the graphics card in. No connections were moved or altered when I put in the graphics card.

And if this is a repost of a similar issue, I do apologize, I am just trying to figure this out. Unfortunately, it looks like more and more that this motherboard has issues. I will update if I was able to get it working with the battery removal trick.

Thanks for reading :)!

UPDATE 1: Signal with DVI output on motherboard works but HDMI doesn't work. Going to try to install graphics card in the other PCI-E slot to see if it works then. But at least I got a video signal now.

Solution
To use integrated videocard- first remove pcie videocard.
To use pcie videocard- recheck if no connected data cables from monitor to your mobo
About EVGA GTX1060 3gb: recheck if additional 6pin power cable is connected good.
Try different pcie slots and different video outputs (dvi, hdmi, dp).
You should have picture on display and able to enter bios before any drivers.

It turns out that it was as simple as using the DVI output for both the motherboard and the graphics card. For some reason, HDMI still doesn't work, but I'm sure that I can figure this out when I install the drivers/play with the monitor settings, etc. Good news is it had nothing to do with the motherboard or other critical components.
