Hello, my new cpu arrived this morning, it's a i5 7600,
I put it in with the stock intel heatsink,
Turned the psu on and pressed the power button;
Fans spin up, various leds turn on, mobo le turns on, but absolutely dead on screen, an after 10-20 seconds it just shuts off and turns on again until i switch off the PSU.

What i have done:
-checked cpu compatibility (its compatible)
-removed everything but cpu, cpu fan and graphics card (gtx 1050),
-removed ram, swapped it with old ram, switched slots, and tried only 1 ram stick at once in both slots,
-reset the CMOS by removing the battery,
-reset CMOS with a jumper wire i had laying around from my Arduino.

The first time i built the pc i had this same exact problem, but it was just the ram not plugged in properly, and as i said i checked the ram is in properly this time.

I sold the old cpu (i3 6100) so i cant test it.

HHDs don't turn on, the hhd activity leds on front of the pc dont show any form of life.

I will be eternally grateful if you guys can help me.

Is your board a h110 or b150? If so you're kinda stuck you'd need a bios update to use your new cpu, and you'd need your old cpu to update the bios. You're stuck either taking your board to a computer shop to get bios updated, buying a skylake Celeron to update bios then reselling it, or buying a b250 motherboard

Mobo:
Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2H
Old cpu: i3 6100
New cpu: i5 7600
Ram: ddr4 2.133mhz
Psu: 550w
Gpu: gtx 1050 mini

So, basically my pc is bricked until i can buy a skylake cpu to update bios?

Yup, it is.
You should have updated the BIOS with the 6100 before selling it and switching up to the 7600.

But, just take to a local PC store and ask them to update it for your, or a friend to borrow a SkyLake CPU so you can do it yourself. If the BIOS isn't updated, then you won't be able to POST, sadly.

As you see, you need bios update F20 to support 7th gen cpu. Like mentioned, visit a store to have your bios updated or just borrow a Skylake, instead of having to buy another processor
