Will the RAM work with my CPU (r5 1600) and will it overclock to 2800 mhz<-- The RAM

Solution
Unknown on the overclock. That specific part number doesn't show up on the qualified list. There are 16GB Corsair kits that are 2800 rated that MSI shows as 2667. If you want full speed you should pick something from the qualified list.

It is helpful but the list for that exact motherboard is better.

By the way the MSI B350 Tomahawk is the exact same motherboard (specs features) as the B350 Gaming Plus. It costs a little less. I would buy it instead.

You should be good to go with any non-ECC, 288Pin, 1.2V, DDR4 2133/2400/2667/2933/3200 Mhz memory with a CL 14, 15 or 16. If you want to achieve full RAM speed. As the support list tends to stick with 8GB modules. Finding a reasonably priced 4GB module from the list will be hard.

By the way 16GB RAM is only $30 more. Even if it is a little slower. You will be better off with 16GB 2400mhz memory than 8GB 3200mhz memory. Speed gains from RAM over 2400mhz is minimal while double the capacity can have a huge performance advantage. As many games recommend 16GB.

Geil lists the RAM in this build as Ryzen compliant.
