My friends rig has been working perfectly for about week and today after a few hours its started flickering, showing artifacts and throwing up these 2 errors:
His MSI Afterburner is showing that the core clock and memory clock is flipping between.
Core Clock - 138 and 1518Mhz
Memory Clock - 459 and 5508Mhz
When he tries to run Overwatch he gets alot of block rectangle artifacts that move around:

I think the card is dead and should be RMA'd but is there any chance it could be something else?

rendering device has been lost - windows popup error message
application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware - bottom right windows 10 notification
