Windows 7 pro
Gigabyte ga-p55a-ud3
I7-860
Sdd is KINGDIAN SSD 60GB 64GB

The problem started with the gigabyte software not being able to launch. "Open device failure."
Also it was hard for the computer to turn on. I usually have to restart a few times until it boots until the gigabyte screen finally pops up.

Start to try to update said software and notice every restart it would revert back to an old restore. I could literally delete half of my ssd and after the restart it would all be back.

Everytime I updated the gigabyte software it wouldnt take.

My bois is up to date.

Tried to wipe and reformat the sdd for a clean start. It would never work.

My question is it a hardware issues with my ssd? Or is my motherboard / CPU going out?
Thought I'd ask before spending money.

I have never had to ask for help like this. I'm stuck. Any help is much appreciated.

Try resetting your BIOS to defaults and reloading the OS again.
If that doesn't work try installing the OS with a minimal build. 1 stick of RAM, 1 hard drive, no extra peripherals plugged in.
If you have another hard drive that you could wipe and do a test install, try that as well.

Let us know how it goes.

So I've tried resetting the bois by power and the pin technique

From the boot screen , I had a message that's said
" The system has experience boot failure from overclocking or change a voltage ."

I've been looking on the Internet how to reset my bois. That's where I'm stuck .

Do you think it's fixable or do I have to buy a new motherboard CPU combo ( both are pretty out of date I purchased them in 2012 .)

Thank you will

if you used the right pins then it did reset. If you want to be sure, turn it off, pull the power cord, and pop out the little watch battery for a good 5 mins. At that point it's definitely reset.
I would also try the minimal build to see if you can at least get it posting.

I did the reset
I tried the minimal build and it started up a lot easier. Use a fresh HD to install windows. Then while installing drivers and such I kept getting alot of random errors , explorer couldn't even download chrome .

Thanks for the help!
I'm kind of over chasing down issues.
The MB and CPU are 5 years old, time for a upgrade.
