Hi all, thanks in advance. I am building a PC to run the Oculus Rift, and can't get it to POST. After pressing the 'on' button, I get power LED, all fans spinning, but no video output or beeps. There is a white light on the GPU. If I take out the GPU I get 5 long beeps after a few seconds of turning it on.
Components:
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 1600
GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
Mobo ASRock AB350M Pro4 (AM4)
Storage Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
PSU Corsair CX650
RAM Team Elite 8GB DDR4-2400
Case Corsair Carbide 100R
Things I've tried:
- Everything in the "Perform These Steps First" thread
- Checked the BIOS version, P2.40 (which supports my CPU)
- Swapping out the PSU - no change. (Also checked my PSU's voltages with a multimeter - all pins are functioning in the right range)
- If I pull everything except the CPU and the HSF, I get 3 short beeps. (Main memory read / write test error according to the ASRock FAQ page) If I add the memory, I get 5 long beeps (No VGA card). If I add the GPU, I get no beeps.
- Replacing the motherboard - no change
My next thought would be to try replacing the GPU, but I obviously don't want to have to go through that if I don't have to.
Wat do?
Any and all suggestions are appreciated! I can pay you back in compliments, Internet friendship, and pictures of my pet guinea pigs.
