I have a dell dimension 9200 case and i'm building a new computer. my dad wants me to use the dell case instead of buying a new one. But will a micro atx mobo fit in the case?

Solution
You're libel to run into proprietary connection issues with a Dell case. They quite often use special connectors to expedite assembly that don't match retail motherboards.
And I believe that motherboard also had a non-retail mounting hole pattern.

The 9200 is the same MB as the E520 in my sig. Except it has room for a full length 2 slot GPU, and a couple more PCI slots After market PSUs fit. But a 150W GTX1060 with an 8 pin PCIe adadper should work. Max. CPU is QX6800, 8GB DDR2 800 low density RAM. Don't be afraid to spend on a PSU, or GPU they can be moved forward to another system later.

Read the "How To Overclock Dell BTX Computers" article.

If you really feel up to a Dell MB swap TP412 from the T3400 workstaion should "fit". But any mismatch at the rear I/O will require metal work, and the fornt I/O cable will have a different pinout and an added heat sensor in the front circuit board so you'll need those 2 peices also. Whether the buttton, and light will line up I don't know. They're at 2 ends of the age spectrum for BTX systems. The TP412 is an X38 MB that supports QX9650 and can run 4.15GHz with Throttlestop software overclock. It supports dual GPUs but only older HD cards. All Dell BTXs have trouble with Radeon r9-3xx (285) and up GPUs.
