Hello, I have a question about my SSD. I purchased an OCZ Vertex 4 about 5-7 years ago and its been going strong since about the past month.

I've noticed on start up the entire PC just freezes for about 20 seconds then comes back, just recently My PC froze and then I tried to restart the PC but then the bios screen came up and my drive was not being recognized. Would not recognize the drive for about 4 restarts then I left it for 20 minutes, restarted and the computer posted to the Windows 10 screen.

During the time my PC would not start I ordered a Samsung pro SSD. Should I cancel my order because my PC is now working or do guys think I should be replacing my drive given the freezing and issues I've been experiencing?

Update: This SSD is not newly installed, I haven't been inside my PC for over a year so I would think that would rule out a lose/faulty SATA cable.

Solution
A storage device not being recognized is cause for concern.

It could be the ssd or the motherboard.

I'd still order the Samsung Pro and start fresh just to have a modern ssd.

Worst cause if it starts acting funny we can start looking at the motherboard, psu or some other component.
