I had bought a new PC recently. I bought everything new except for my PSU which is 720W gigabyte e720A ( I thought enough for my pc and worked fine in my earlier pc) . But while playing games like Gta 5 , the system restarts. within few moments.

After restart I have checked the temperature and that is quite normal at around 60 for both GPU and CPU. Then I ran CPU stress test and the system didn't restart but the temperature was higher. I bought a better cooler for cpu and temperature remained fairly good. But the problem remained. Running GPU stress test at 1080p with furmark, the system restarts within second. so I used MSI afterburner to reduce maximum power to 80 percent. And the test then tends to be all right. the temperature was around 74 highest.

config:

inter corei7-7700k
ram 16gb
Nvidia GTX 1070
psu 720 watt gigabyte

Yeah, the psu is not great. Probably performs closer to a 550 watt psu, with 720 being peak output. However, even a 550 watt psu should support this system just fine.

Maybe try to borrow a friend's psu to test if that is the issue?
