I recently bought an AMD FX 8370 with my gtx 1060. I looked at comparisons on games with these two paired and found games to run well. I mostly looked at battlefield 1 comparison on YouTube with the AMD FX 8370 and the gtx1060 all settings maxed out (ultra settings) which the comparison got mostly 60 fps in game . Then when I started playing battlefield 1 with the AMD FX 8370 and gtx 1060 my frames were 30 to 40 FPS. so I thought this could not be right. I looked at my GPU and it was at 99% while my CPU was at only 60 to 70%. I don't know what my problem is and i need help figuring it out.

I have an 8350 with a GTX1060 and I am getting 60 frames consistent with BG1. In game I get around 70. Cut scenes drops to 30 though. Every now and then it will drop, but it stays up pretty much all the time. That is a watt hungry CPU and card though, are you sure that you aren't throttling due to a lack of power?

What clocks are you running the FX-8370 at?

Also, where exactly in the game are you seeing these types of framerates? I tried to do a measurement but the constant cut-scenes and differences between the War Stories make it almost pointless.

Below is my FPS on Ultra for the first part of The Runner. It looks all over the place, but I'm not certain if it was shitting the bed every time there was an explosion or if it is just the choppy cut-scenes and such. The actual game play wasn't terrible, I noticed a few hangs. Probably where it was zero FPS... :D

Nothing really out of the ordinary really. The fx 8370 is just a bit above min spec and on ultra that is what fps you get from it since it's maxed out.

What settings do you play on. If you play on low it will of course be less of a load on the cpu and allow it to do more.

I have my settings all on ultra. Which is completely fine with that CPU/GPU combo. Because the 8350 is actually the recommended AMD CPU. And the 1060 3GB is the recommended GPU. So that combo will play BG1 on high quality with no issues. As the OP stated, he saw demonstrations where people were using that combo on Ultra to great effect.
