Hey guys, I'll be building a pc this coming Christmas and I really like the look of the Ryzen 3 1200, my question is would my gtx 970 bottleneck it in any way?

Solution
The R3's are good choices only against the i3 and if on an extreme low budget, but, I'd always try hard to step up the very reasonably priced R5-1600 *if at all humanly possible*...; better today when playing with stronger GPUs, and, undoubtedly will last longer with future games....

I know this question is a little old but figured I’d throw in my 2 Canadian pesos for anyone looking it up in the future. My answer is it really depends on the game. I have mine clocked at 3.95GHz (you might not get as lucky as me and not get as much of an overclock as that). I am playing at 1680x1050 as I don’t yet have a 1080p monitor. In GTA V I run Very High settings and 2x MSAA. GPU sits around 80% driving down the road in the main city, CPU is at around 60-70%, and occasionally peaking over 90%. In Just Cause 3 at very high with MSAATx2 (or whatever that setting is) it runs at 60-70% CPU most of the time and 70-90% GPU. So take that for what it’s worth. Side note, the stock Wraith cooler is really dang good.
