PSU or MOBO frying my GPUs?

CPU: i5 6600k
MOBO: MSI Z170 Gaming Pro Carbon
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti GAMING 6G

For a PSU I used to have a Cooler Master G750M. It ran the above system for almost a year, but the fan got terribly noisy so I replace the PSU with a Corsair RM1000x.
The system was running fine with it, then after 3 months I decided to reinstall my OS, I got Windows 10 Pro N, also ended up installing the "Media Feature Pack" Windows 10 N, for the "Gaming" section on Windows settings, to disable DVR and enable Game Mode.
A few days later while playing PUBg my game started stuttering, PC turned of on its own. I turned it back on and the screen was white. Then I smelled the capacitor burn. The card was extremely hot, near the SLI connectors, the burnt smell was also strongest there.
Took it out and used the onboard graphics for a few days. Borrowed a Nvidia 660 from a friend, tested the performance...while testing PUBg the same thing happened.

Should I replace the MOBO and PSU? Could something else have caused it? (Like the CPU, RAM, 3xSSDs in RAID0, one normal HD, PciEx1 Asus Xonar DGX, 4 System Fans)

I appreciate any advice, thanks.

haha yea, though i'm not willing to bet a 1000$ GPU on that :p
it is just so freaky and worrisome. The all and all of it has been quite devastating for me.

Basically i'm wondering if they don't switch out the GPU if i can still use it (probably won't)
and if i can sell the MOBO to someone
