For a Ryzen 1600 and a gtx 1080.
Both are the same price, i know that this won't make too much of a difference, but a question can't hurt me, can it?
To anyone who replies i'll be thankful

From every bit of info I've found the patriot are Samsung b-die (unless they've changed in the last 6 months) with loosened timings

For that reason they'd be the ones I'd go for , the gskill cas 16 are virtually guaranteed to not be.
Fas as I know only the native cas 14 sticks are Samsung .

@Itachi_1 - gskill is not saying there is a difference between those 2 kits (apart from the colour)

They're saying they're different kits to the article JackNaylorPE linked to.

There are 3 or 4 different kits of gskill 3200 with differing timing & differing nand manufacturers

You'd have to link the the exact kit you can buy to make an informed decision.

The viper are absolutely 100% Samsung chips though , proven immensely overclockable & capable of running much lower timing than their rated spec - ON AN INTEL SETUP though.

Which is neither here or there on a ryzen based rig.

My Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 1866MHz come with 10-11-10-30 timings stock. So far I've run them 2400 @ 10-11-10-30 and at 2133 @ 9-10-9-28 without any issues or difficulties. I like G-skill, their compatability with most systems is top rated and their higher ranked ram like the Trident-Z is very hard to beat in an OC contest and pricing is respectable for the performance.

But ram is ram at any given speeds, with an on-die memory controller, timings have taken a back seat to what they used to be in importance and only a benchmark can honestly tell any difference unless you are aiming at extreme OC and need commensurate ram.

So stock xmp ram boils down to nothing more than looks for the most part.

These are the exact ones I'd buy (with a slight discount, though). Timing 16-16-16-36

The cas16 are SkHynix, same as the Corsair lpx, which to date have had more issues with Ryzen than anyone. (RipJaws IV and V series) The cas14 are Samsung B-die, which are to date the most effective with hitting 3200mhz.(Trident-Z, RipJaws V and FlareX). The sk's will usually get 2666 or if lucky top out at 2933.
Of course Amd in partnership with its vendors keep coming up with some fixes, Gigabyte being a leading contender and this is solving many issues, but last I heard there were still some bugs.

But both of them are cas16.
So... if i understand correctly, you'd reccoment the Patriots?

^ the gskill are hynix based flash as Karadjgne has said above.

The patriot viper elite (even though they have a native cas 16 profile) appear to be Samsung b-die just with loosened timings

Reviews of these sticks show them running 3200@ cas 13 & even overclocking to 3766mhz on Intel setups.

So yes if they're a similar price I would 100% buy the patriot sticks.
