While attempting to remove the mysearch browser hijacker from the registry of Windows 7 on my Lenovo ThinkCenter desktop I may have removed something else because I no longer get any sound and receive the error message "No audio devices are installed" when I right click on the volume icon in the system tray, which has a red X. The speakers are plugged in. I have run the sound troubleshooter. I have rebooted the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the audio device in the device manager under Sound, Video and Game Controllers (High Definition Audio device says "This device is working properly"). I have updated, uninstalled and reinstalled the sound driver. I have run Mawarebytes, SpyHunter, AdAware and a few other malware programs. I have tried to run the Microsoft troubleshooter file "audio10.diagcab", but it will not open and says "An unexpected error occurred. The troubleshooting wizard cannot continue." I have tried to restore my computer using system restore but received the error message: "System Restore could not start". I am running out of ideas left to try so any help would be appreciated.

Excellent point. Can I do this without a new Windows disk?
