Basically, deciding whether to get a gtx 1080 for around $500 to $550 or wait on the Vega 64 and see if prices/performance get any better. If I do get a gtx 1080 what is the best 1080 to get? Black/red color preferred as well as highest overclock and lowest temp. I have a Enermax Ostrog GT so size may or may not affect the GPU.

I'd recommend to go with the GPU proven to be good and not wait 1 year for AMD to actually drop their "free games" or make enough GPUs to satisfy the market. I'd always recommend Nvidia over AMD since I've never had issues with them, while AMD users usually complain about issues all the time.

Red and black is the MSI. Actually getting an aftermarket 1080 isn't that much of an improvement, as far as I've seen. So you can check the MSI or other cards, then check the sizes. 1080s are pretty big, as with all the **80 cards.
