Yes most definitely. In fact the better option is to not waste $170+ on a dead-end CPU upgrade. I say dead-end bc the Athlon 860K (including 880K) are the fastest processors for your motherboard; but they are still slow for today's games. You will be limited by the Athlon X4 in PUBG.
A better option is to upgrade to AM4 motherboard with Ryzen CPU and DDR4 RAM. All depends on your budget.
This would be the sweet spot for budget gaming.
